STC
Core Range
The
STC core range is certainly ADRAD’s most popular core
type, available in 12.7mm or 15.875mm tube pitch. The 12mm
x 2.6mm tubes offer a fantastic coverage range. They can
be supplied in flat fin for low-clog environment or with
a multi-lowered fin, for highway truck applications. The
fin range for STC like all Adrad cores consist of 5.5, 6.5,
9, 11 and 13. STC cores are available in either copper or
brass fin.
KAT
Core Range
Heavy
duty applications are what ADRAD’s KAT core range
was designed for, which feature 12mm x 2.6mm tubes on 15.875
cantered centers. A wider row pitch than STC, the KAT cores
are used in dump trucks, scrapers, wheel-loaders and dozer-type
applications. They are available in copper, steel and brass
fin. Additionally, steel and brass armor facing can be offered
over the base fin materials of copper and brass, to offer
the ultimate industrial core configuration.
Armor
facing for KAT style cores can include.
Brass
Fin, Brass Face to Both sides of the core – Suggested
application Underground mining equipment.
Copper
Fin, Steel Face, and Strength of Steel conductivity of copper
– Heavy Dump Trucks or Earthmoving machinery.

AG
Core (ITC)
In
extreme applications where air-side folding is a major concern,
nothing beats the ADRAD AG style core, which features 12
x 2.6mm tubes on 12.7 tube center. The fin pattern is classed
as ‘inline’, or tubes punched directly behind
the one previous. This style of tube pattern results in
a core that is suitable for harvesters, headers, underground
applications, forklift trucks and compactors. Copper, steel
and brass fin options are available and like KAT cores,
steel and brass armor facing are optional extras on copper/brass
base materials.
Typical
applications:
Copper or brass fin inline – Forklift
Brass fin with steel face – Cane harvester
Ultra-T
(Ultra Tubular) Cores
ADRAD’s
newest addition to the fin + tube core range is also ADRAD’s
best performer. It shares some similarities with the ½
STC, but features a tighter row pitch, thus allowing more
tube rows. Ultra-T cores are ideal for highway trucks that
are being re-powered to a bigger HP rating. Similarly Ultra-T
is a great alternative to replace a CT (Serpentine) type
core that requires upgrading to a stronger core type. These
are available in thickness from 2Row to7Rows featuring copper
or brass as the base fin material.
Optional
extras include for Tubular Core Range (TU)
•
Armor facing available in brass and steel on KAT and ITC
core range, for ultimate strength
• Centre bars available in ITC and KAT core range
to replicate OE style mounting points on some CAT and Komatsu
type E/M machinery
• Corner or full sub-header plates available in 1.6mm
or 2.5mm to complement all bolt-up-style cores, but sub-headers
can be added at your request to smaller solder-on tank style
or tabbed (PTR) style cores
• 6mm headers, the ultimate industrial header plate
is available on KAT and ITC style cores. This option is
to replicate similar OE style cores that use 6mm header
plates as standard
• tabbed headers made to order are an optional extra
if your core needs to retain its genuine plastic tank(s).
A wide variety of tabbed headers are available off the shelf.
However, if not, most of our range can be tooled within
a few days. Ask our friendly staff if you have a requirement.
• Dimpled tubes
• Crank holes (WET BOX)
